The Bookish Snob Tag

This is my first tag ever, so please bear with me as I am still figuring the format I want to do with this. Also thank you so much to Riddhi B. from @Whispering Stories for tagging me! Please check out her blog!

ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?

Yes, for the most part. Sometimes, I will go into a TV show or movie not aware that it is an adaptation, so I will read the book after (this happened with Harry Potter, TATBILB, 13 Reasons Why, and a few others). However, if I can help it, I will always try to read the book before the adaptation.

FORMAT SNOBYou can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?

100% physical books! I have a hard time focusing on audiobooks and I only read eBooks if I can’t spend the money on the actual book right away, but I eventually buy the physical copy. I love having bookshelves in my room and am a book collector along with being a book reader.

SHIP SNOB: Would you date or marry a non-reader?

Of course! I would love to be with someone who read because I would have someone to recommend books to and we can discuss books with. With that being said, as long as they will listen to me talk about a book I read (aka rant), I have no problem with them being a non-reader.

GENRE SNOB: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Probably mystery. There are a handful of mystery books that I enjoy, but I care more about the characters and romance than I do the mystery. There are hardly any mysteries on my to-read list, but if I never read a mystery again, I’d be fine.

COMMUNITY SNOB: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

This is probably more specific than the question is asking for, but I think books about vampires. I think that once Twilight got a bad rep, all vampire books were categorized with it. I’m reading The Vampire Academy right now, but I’m kind of embarrassed about it, but I shouldn’t be. Just let people read what they want and don’t make them feel bad about it.

I tag anyone who reads this and wants to do it! Thank you for reading and comment below if you agree or disagree!!
