One of Us Is Lying is about 5 strangers who walk into detention and only 4 leave. Those 5 strangers and how the surviving 4 become friends, reminds me of the group from The Breakfast ClubOne of Us Is Lying is a murder mystery that is perfect if you love Pretty Little Liars too.

If you like A Star Is Born, read You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn

You’d Be Mine is about a country singer, Clay Coolidge, who convinces the daughter of 2 famous country singers, Annie Mathers, to go on tour with him. Both the movie and book go deep into the lives of celebrities and both deal with grief, death, and suicide.

If you like The Bachelor, read The Selection by Kiera Cass

The Selection is about 35 random girls being chosen to compete for the chance to marry the prince and is told through the perspective of one of the chosen girls, America Singer. The  Selection is a dystopian as well and has a world similar to The Hunger Games. 

If you like Aladdin, then read The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Adieh

The Wrath and the Dawn is a retelling of One Thousand and One Nights and is about a king who marries a new girl every day after killing the previous one the night before. One girl, Shahrzad, volunteers to marry the king to get revenge for him killing her best friend. The story of Aladdin comes from One Thousand and One Nights and has very similar magical aspects. 

If you like Veronica Mars, read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich

The Stephanie Plum series is about Stephanie Plum, a saleswoman turned bounty hunter. Both Veronica Mars and Stephanie Plum are mysteries, but are light-hearted and have overarching plots. Each book has a new mystery and a cast of likable characters.
