My Favorite Books

Since this is a new blog, I thought I could talk about my favorite books so you guys could get to know the types of books I love. My preferred genres are young adult fantasy, young adult contemporary, historical fiction, new adult romance, and adult contemporary. I love branching out and reading from all different genres, though. This list was incredibly hard to cut down, too. I have plenty of other books that I love, which you will undoubtedly hear about in other posts.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

This series is my favorite series of all time and of all the books by Sarah J Maas, but I will basically read anything by her. I love her and all of her stories, but Feyre and Rhysand are the ones who left the biggest impact on me.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

This trilogy is another one of my all time favorite series. When I went into this book, I didn’t think I would like it and I went out of it with a totally different perspective. It makes you think and is the best dystopian novel I have ever read.

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

This is my all time favorite contemporary. Nicola Yoon is an amazing writer and I have never read anything that compared to the writing style of this story. It is a moving and compelling story written in the most incredible way.

The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer

Kelly Rimmer is an amazing author, but this is my favorite of hers. It’s my favorite historical fiction story as well, going back and forth between World War II and the present. I love historical fiction that switches timelines and this story really came through. The characters were amazing and the story was unique.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This is my favorite classic novel I have read and one of the only required school readings I have read that I loved. The meaning behind this novel is inspiring and moving and I came home from school actually excited to read this. That means a lot coming from someone who can barely get through something I’m required to read.
